Macari Hill Civil Engineering Ltd was founded in 2021 by construction professionals Martyn Macari and David Hill after working together to successfully deliver numerous Civil Engineering and Construction Projects over the last fifteen years.
The company was founded based on their vision, a vision to make a positive contribution in improving the standards to which projects are completed and to minimise the impact our industry has on its people and others.
We are passionate about all aspects of our business and the development of a culture capable of empowering our people to leave a positive legacy through reducing the impact we have on others and importantly on our environment. In terms of collaboration; your project is our project and seamless interaction is our goal.’

Drainage
Installation and remediation of gravity mains, rising mains, manholes, pumping stations, CSOs, outfalls, headwalls, box culvert, and associated apparatus. We have a particular understanding of the requirements of Scottish Water both in terms of their network and the organisation and are keen to utilise this to help our clients.
Water
Installation and remediation of water mains and associated apparatus by our DOMS certified operatives. Our experience in working with Scottish Water helps our teams successfully fulfil the requirements of our clients.
Roads, Highways & Infrastructure
Construction and repairs to roads, footpaths, kerbs and associated apparatus. We are capable of providing a holistic service comprising engineering management as well as the construction of the full road box and surrounding footpaths incorporating the various utilities and drainage requirements. We have experience of working on Transport Scotland schemes and can help support our clients in the delivery of their projects.
Site Clearance
Clearance of sites including the removal of brush, tree-felling and removal of arisings from site or chipping on site.
Earth Works
Earthworks, including cut / fills, platforming and the formation of SUDS ponds. We are also experienced in undertaking smaller more intricate earthworks projects including the creation of bunds for soft landscaping purposes.
Soft Landscaping
Seeding, Tree, Shrub and Hedge Planting for commercial purposes.
Fencing
We are experienced in the supply and installation of timber post and rail, stockproof, chainlink security fencing and palisade.
Reinforced Concrete Structures
Retaining wall structures including R.C. mass brick/block, gabion wall and crib walling. Foundations, strip, RC beam and pile caps.

David Hill
An Experienced and technically astute Civil Engineer with a first class background in main contracting. Specialist skills include the construction and repair of sewer infrastructure and flood defence engineering. An amiable individual with a real talent for solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining relationships and ensuring the demands of all stakeholders are met. A key interest in learning new strategies in implementing behavioural change in the pursuit of improved standards of Health and Safety. Happiest when delivering projects to client’s expectations
Martyn Macari
A construction professional with a background in the commercial management of projects in the Highways, Water, Defence and Housing Sectors. A conscientious and pro-active individual with a talent for engaging the construction team to ensure equilibrium is reached between stakeholder and commercial requirements. Dedicated to self-improvement and making a positive contribution to the construction industry through the development and training of its people. Happiest when helping to start or develop the careers of others.
